There’s been a lot of talk lately about green jobs and moving toward a green economy. Van Jones has said it’s not just that we have a president who’s black but that for the first time we have a president who’s green.
Even with a president who recognizes the depth of the environmental crisis, are we capable of addressing the energy crisis and our dependence on oil? And can we break what some have called our addiction to petroleum and petroleum based products? Adolfo Doring’s new film, Blind Spot, explores what the consequences of cheap, abundant energy have been for the global environment and how we might move toward a different kind of economy.

This is the first time I have heard anyone mention that the cause of
our environmental problem is the MASS PRODUCTION of stuff we don’t need
which uses oil to produce. The general population is largely responsible
for the pollution because they purchase stuff and ignore deliberately
how products were made, who made them at what human cost. Shopping has
become a passtime. READ RUDOLF BAHRO …..AVOIDING SOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL
DISASTER. He was a member of the Green Party in Germany, and illustrates
the disaster of the MEGAMACHINE. The corporations exploit, but are
only able to do so because we BUY, BUY, BUY, everything from
toxic cosmetics to Bratz dolls. When the need for JOBS is mentioned,
no-one asks, “what kind of job – what will it be producing – something
positive for the planet or more degradation”.
I hope this can be passed on to ADOLFO DORING. I have only recently
discovered this tv channel and now will purchase the film BLIND SPOT
and get as many people to do the same.
