Over one-fifth of US households aren’t getting any attention in the Henry Paulson bailout plan. They are the 60 million individuals, including over 18.5 million children living in what Michael Zweig calls economic distress. Even as Wall Street is demanding attention and a blank check with no strings attached, those 60 million American families need a plan too. That’s the case made in a report being released by the Center for the Study of Working Class Life at Stony Book University. Zweig, the director of the Center and the editor of What’s Class Got to Do with it? discusses the study, the Paulson plan, and what the financial crisis—and the bailout–mean for working people.
