Thanks for watching Live From Main Street, streaming live from The Big Tent in Denver. The replay of Live From Main Street will be available here on Monday.
Kicking back on Sunday? Wondering what’s doing in Denver? Events at the Big Tent kick off with a live, town-hall forum featuring Van Jones, Jim Hightower, Donna Edwards, Faye Wattleton, David Barsamian,
Lee Camp, David Sirota, Polly Baca, Andre Banks and more. Wish you could be there? You Can! Watch the LIVE STREAM right here, courtesy of The Media Consortium and GRITtv.
Party Conventions are insider affairs and the coverage is usually a bore. Need we say it again? The MSM don’t cover campaigns – they cover candidates. All those organizers and voters who make campaigns hum or splutter — they barely get a word in. Independent media want to do better, but it’s typically a struggle for them to gain access – and to get heard above the din.
Collaborative media to the rescue!!! If you liked how Twitter broke NBC’s lock on the Olympics, you’ll love how the independent media working together are figuring out how to increase access and broaden the conversation at and beyond the DNC.
On Sunday, August 24 at 3pm Pacific, (4 pm Mountain, 6pm Eastern), Van Jones, Jim Hightower, Andre Banks and a whole roster of real-life change-makers will be center stage at “Live From Main Street Colorado” at the Big Tent – a fully-wired facility for bloggers and their buddies next to the Pepsi Center and the DNC.
The topic is “So You Say You Want Change: Exploring the Conflicts and Opportunities Ahead.” After the swell of enthusiasm that built during primary season, what’s happened ? Is hope alive? What’s bringing people to Denver? Live from Main Street will hear from the hopeful, the skeptical and those in between. And we’ll talk about what real change might really look like – and what’s already happening to prove it’s possible. Read Adele Stan’s “What will the Green Economy Look Like?
You can tune in – from your living room. We’ll be streaming right here.

Wow. What a superb forum. Thanks for all your hard work in putting this together, Laura, Tracy and Tracy and all the gang.
Very nice! DO any of you fabulous insiders have a link to a real schedule? Not the schedule of hollywood speakers, but the rest of the schedule, por favor.
What kind of change do I want? I want YouTube that works on Linux.
Have fun everybody.
Now is the time one wishes for the comment banner to be functional, huh?

This is very exciting, and much more worthwhile than the gasbags holding forth on MSNBC. Thank you so much, Laura, and thanks to all your panelists as well.
Seconded. Really informative, really well organized. Kudos!
w00t!! Donna Edwards!!
I want to see the repulican stenographers posing as media abolished.
The question from the woman with MS is important to me as a family member of mine suffers from it. Science under the Bush administration has suffered as has research in stem cells. Will we see Congress start changing this under the 111th Congress?
Cannot wait for more of this! What an incredibly inspiring forum.
Thanks folks! The hour-long version of this forum will be on GRITtv tomorrow night – ch.9415 on the DISH network, or online right here at grittv.org
