I miss the Fourth Amendment. It was one of my favorites.

Hillary releases a long statement as to why she voted “no” on FISA. I now wish that she was the nominee.

I have to admit, the failure of our majority in congress to do what needed to be done for our country and her constitution has been a blow that is hard to take

she had a very safe “no”, I am thinking the roles would be reversed if she were the nominee

I don’t think its the money. The vast majority got sums that were of small consequence(at least in their world). I think the whole deal on this was targeting the White House. Those law suits would be annoying to the telecoms, but would hardly dent their bottom line. What was in peril was the bush cabal. Once that info became evidence, indictments for everyone in the White House were automatic.
I’m not sure what swayed them tho let it go, but I suspect election tactics and some cease-fire with the goopers.
Honestly nothing else makes sense.

It is the money, but not in the way you might expect.

If anyone saw Senator Feingold last night on Olbermann and heard and heard his comparison between the cave in on the Patriot Act last spring and now FISA, you’d know more of the inside castration of the Democrats going on by the likes of Schumer and Reid and Levin and Rockefeller.

I’m so sick of writing about this, maybe someday..no it’ll never happen now.

Schumer and Co, went after the coalition Feingold started to build against the Patriot Act before Christmas of 06.

By the time the Christmas break was over, Feingolds support was gone. He publicly called the Dems cowards, and dropped his plans for a Presidential bid. Schumer later proudly boasted about it in an article in the Hill where he uses the power of the DSCC money and the ‘Red state fear’ to force Senators to vote according to his donors wishes.

It’s always been about the DCCC donors – the same who threatened Pelosi over the Clinton candidacy , and the DSCC donors. Not one dime of which ever made it to the candidate coffers of Lamont or Hackett, but was redirected to Lieberman and Brown, because that who the donors wanted to support.

Obama, who once shunned the passive pandering DLC to get our money and blew apart Schumer and Emanuels “Red state fear” propaganda, is now a card carrying leader of the DLC.

I’m a hard assed Dem but I’ll be damned if I’ll support 4 more years of Reid and Hoyer’ ass kissing and whining.

And for those using the Supreme Court as an excuse to not vote for McCain – remember it was this same group of FISA Dems who also supported Roberts and Alito.

And I’ll never forget – it was Reid and Schumer who forced Lieberman down our throats.
