With Lady Liberty presiding, Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation (GIPEC), Transportation Alternatives, and Bike and Roll all teamed up on June 6 for the first free bike Friday on Governors Island, part of New York City’s first sustained bike
share program.

As one of the free Friday riders says, “With the way gas prices are going, I think this is my next vehicle.”
