GRITtv: Will A Populist Uprising Take Back The Democratic Party?
| By: Laura Flanders Thursday May 29, 2008 7:53 pm |
Today on GRITtv, have you GOT DOCS? We have, and we show a different one every week. Today, a new film on electoral manipulation – Gerrymandering. Then, our panel discussion on goings-on in the Democratic party. On the eve of the DNC’s decision on the Michigan and Florida primaries, we ask whether there really is an uprising in the party’s ranks, or just a sideways shift? We speak with author David Sirota, actor/activist Danny Glover, Dedrick Muhammad and Mark Green. Actor Mike Farrell weighs in on the death penalty, ladies repair bikes, and a Jihad for Love. It’s all right here on GRITtv.

WOW it’s Open for comments!
When you get here Digg it for GRITTV!
There has been a problem with comments? If populists were taking over the Democratic Party Edwards would be the nominee.
OT the NYMEX crude oil near future contract closed at $126.40/bbl and the Cushing spot at $126.62. Because of Memorial Day, the weekly EIA supply numbers came out today instead of Wednesday, its usual date. Anyway crude oil stocks declined by a whopping 8.9 million bbls. That makes a drop of 14.2 million bbls in the last 2 weeks. That is a huge decline. Gasoline inventories fell last week 3.3 million bbls, also a significant decrease.
Now what does this mean? Well if supply and demand factors were driving the market, these big declines today should have sent prices through the roof today but in fact the reverse happened. Why? Because the markets are being driven by speculative plays not supply and demand.
Will Frogs grow feathers and beaks?
and while it is true that a couple frogs like Feingold or Dodd have patches of feathers on their hides, and sing a few chirps sometimes, there are no birds of this sort of feather in Washington DC. Those few (D)’s of a birdy nature would be free to strategically vote with birds, if there were any birds in washington, but there are not, because the frogs are really much more comfortable with their own kind, even though in even numbered years their croaking starts to include poll tested rhetoric about ‘change.’
but their actions are always just as froggy as they’ve ever been, and it is obvious to non-frogs that they have more in common with their warty cousins the toads than they do with even a flightless bird like the kiwi.
Used my shovel.
